Thank you for taking the initiative to facilitate the Project Planet Network "Poster Contest". As the facilitator, I encourage you to share your experiences, educate, and most important, mentor. The objective of this action is to bring to awareness the cause and effect of the choice to build the Nuclear power plants in the US. By addressing President Obama and local/state officials, the voice of the younger generation will be heard with great hope. Below is the submission guideline for the Poster contest. PPN Poster Contest Submission Guidelines Project Planet Network™ "Poster Contest" is sponsored by MARCI™, a holistic and wellness magazine for the holistic community and holistic practitioners. MARCI™ is an acronym for Mindfulness, Awareness, Responsibility, Compassion, and Intuition. The purpose of this contest is to address the President and government officials by means of art work. The art work will be an expression of the individuals concerns, fears, questions, and visions of alternate energy solutions to move us to a sustainable energy policy. Poster contest is open to the public ages 7 to 19 in school districts, environmental and community groups, and religious education groups. Anyone can also enter as an individual as long as they fall into this age group. Art work may include words, phrases, captions, quotes within the poster, not separate. At least 3 copies must be submitted. Art work must be sent to the President and other government official(s) before submitting to MARCI™. If original is sent to MARCI™ for judging/exhibit, note that it will not be returned. Works submitted will be exhibited for public awareness and display. Size of art work can be 8x11 or 11x14. Poster/art work must address the Nuclear Power Plants being built in the US. "How are we affecting the ECO system?" "What are the possible alternatives?" Examples are Solar, Wind, Geo Thermal, Bio fuel, etc.. Any suggestions of discrimination towards sex, religious beliefs, age, ethnic origin, physical or mental disabilities will be automatically disqualified from entering the contest. Group facilitators and Parents/Guardians for individual submission, must screen submission before sending. Deadline is April 26, 2010. Questions for Poster Contest What will you do with Nuclear waste? How much Uranium is there to support the future if we go to Nuclear power plants? What about the water? Will there be sufficient amount to cool the power plants in times of drought? What about contamination? How will this affect the people who live in these neighborhoods where the power plants will be built? What are we doing to the ECO system? Where will these power plants be built? In your backyard? What if there was an accident? What will the plan of action be? What is our energy future going to look like based on the decisions made today? What are we creating for our future generation?
