Aromatherapy is the use of Essential oils—which are taken from herbs, flowers, resin, wood, and roots—in body and skin care treatments. This is done in an effort to affect the mood and promote health. These essential oils aid in relaxation, improve circulation, and help in the healing of wounds. Every oil has its own unique smell, characteristic, and benefit. Specific oils are blended together by the aroma therapist and then added to “carrier oil”, such as almond oil, for use during the massage.
