Singing Bowls

Singing Bowls, also known as a cup gong or a Himalayan bowl, is a musical instrument that is used in meditation. Made generally from metal, though other metals can be used, the bowl is played by hitting, striking, or slowing stirring a wooden mallet or striker around the outside or on the top, outer surface of the bowl. If done the right way, a relaxing, harmonic sound will be produced.

Singing bowls can be found in a variety of shapes, sizes, designs, colors, carvings and craftings. The making of traditional bowls is now considered a lost art. Most old bowls contain very little, if any, design and adornment.
