The Alexander Technique is movement education in which the student is taught to stand and move in ways that reduce physical stress on the body. Focusing to correct posture, the position of the feet when standing, and the position our bodies are placed in when lifting objects allows a person to heighten the awareness of movement within his or her own body. This tool is useful in the improvement of day-to-day function. In one-on-one sessions, specialized verbal instructions and hand contact are used.
