Circles of Life Workshop Descriptions

1st Workshops: 10:00 - 12 p.m.

Susan Brody, Workshop Leader (Saturday, June 27th)

Our Relationship with Nature

What is your relationship to plants and animals? This workshop will look at our attitudes and relationships toward plants, animals and our planet and how these affect our footprint on the world….how we treat the environment and the animals we live with as well as what we eat and wear.

We will discuss plant and animal energy as well as daily lessons we can learn from those we encounter. What animal do you connect with? Do you have a totem animal?

We will also learn what it means when our pets get ill, and how to give gratitude for the lessons and nourishment supplied us by both plants and animals.

Anelyn & Stephen Tortorello, Workshop Leader (Saturday, June 27th)

Witnessing Inner Wisdom

Transitioning from a human doing to a human being with yogic meditation.

In this workshop, we will look at meditation from a yogic perspective. Building on the yoga Sutras of Patanjali, you will learn 3 postures for meditation and use mindful journaling for witnessing the present moment. The workshop will begin with a short lecture and end with a group activity.

Denise Saracco, Workshop Leader (Saturday, June 27th)

Transforming Into You: Reconnecting To Your Divine Self

It’s common to walk through life feeling disconnected and estranged from our true being at times.  We are never disconnected though; rather we just forget in some moments to align with our Sacred and Divine selves.  This workshop is designed to restore, replenish, and reconnect us with our soul in a celebratory and healing way.

With the energies of transformation to support and guide us, we will shed our limiting selves to open up to experience our expansive and divine selves.  This in itself creates cellular healing within our physical bodies, and deeply profound healing of the mental/emotional/soul bodies.  It also opens our eyes to experience more of our soul's fullness and how we are all truly connected with All.  From the perspective of sacred divine fullness, we can then see the sacred divine fullness in the microcosms and macrocosms of the mandalas of the Earth.

Please bring a notebook/pen to journal your experiences, a blanket or cushion to sit and/or lie down on, rattles, drums, or any other instruments to play, and your sacred divine selves.  This workshop will be conducted outdoors weather permitting, so please bring what you need for your comfort.

2nd Workshops: 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Elizabeth Olney, MA, CET:  Workshop Leader (Saturday, June 27th)
The Mandala and You

Mandala translated from Sanskrit simply means circle. The circle symbolizes oneness, wholeness, essence and unity. The Mandala shows itself in profound, familiar and mysterious ways universally and personally. Designing circles reveals attributes and sub-conscious desires as a reflection. This workshop inspires intuitive emergence of symbolic affirmations by way of your unique creativeness. Elizabeth shall present an array of art materials which will spark spontaneity. No experience necessary. Focus is on creative expression rather than technical ability and proves to be an insightful experience. And fun!

Vivian Sartoretto, Workshop Leader (Saturday, June 27th)
Create Your Reality through Visualization

This is the year of transformation for many. How do we create real change in our personal lives and in the world?

We all have the ability to create the life we dream of but, often we hold unconscious patterns that keep us from fulfilling our dream. We do create our own reality and we can take responsibility for our own experiences instead of feeling like a victim.

Once we recognize that the difficulties and imbalances in our lives are reflections of our own unconscious patterns, we have a powerful tool to become aware of and change those patterns. It does not take long to make that change and become aware of how much power we actually have to create the lives we truly desire.

In this workshop you will learn how to connect with those old patterns, how to release them and manifest in your life what it is you truly desire.

Deanna Trust, Workshop Leader (Saturday, June 27th)

Feng Shui "To Thine Own Self Be True"

Feng Shui -Living your life in it's ultimate simplicity, flowing with the laws of nature while immersing in the wisdom of "To Thine Own Self Be True"...  Deanna imparts a creative unfoldment of Feng Shui, environmental medicine awareness,  as experienced through the lens of consciousness.

Plan to learn about color, shapes, yin and yang energies and working with feng shui cures that will enliven your spirit and provide the soul-nurturing sanctuary you so richly deserve.

Please bring a basic drawing of the primary floor (first floor of where you live) for Deanna to mark with the energy map to use as your reference  throughout the program.

Other topics to be covered in the program are: inviting pathways, front door allure, the five red flags, what your address reveals about you and contemporary feng shui solutions for today's challenges.

Mary Bennett (Circles of Life TEAM player)
Lymphatic Drainage, Massage and Cranial Sacral Therapist
Mary Bennett
has a practice of therapeutic massage concentrating on CranioSacral Therapy, Swedish Massage and Lymphatic Massage. Sessions may be for one particular modality or as an integration of the techniques to provide the most beneficial results for each client. Mary earned a B.A. from William Paterson College, Wayne, NJ, and her 580-hour training in Massage Certification from the Health Center for the Healing Arts in Belle Meade, NJ.  Shortly after completing her initial massage training, Mary took courses in Newborn Massage and, at the other end of the spectrum, Geriatric Massage. The light - yet so powerful - touch of the work in both instances strongly impacted her concept of what massage could offer. In many cases, less was definitely more! With that point of view, she moved forward into areas of health-enhancing massage requiring hands of sensitivity and compassion.
Additional training followed in Trager, and certification in Pre- and Perinatal Massage, Massage for Cancer and Life-Threatening Illnesses, Post-Mastectomy Massage, use of the Light Beam Generator (which encourages increased flow and release of backed-up lymph), and a number of approaches to Lymphatic Drainage (Applied Lymphology, Vodder and Chikly). Yet there is always more to learn, and CranioSacral Therapy was the next appropriate step for her. In many ways, CST has been the glue that bonded all the prior work together. The techniques of each of these modalities, blended together, result in a powerful store of tools from which to draw, to meet the needs of each client every time he or she is on Mary's massage table.

Susan Brody (Circles of Life TEAM player)

Flower Essence, Energy Healer, Ion Cleanse Foot Detox & Pet-sitter
Susan's career life has been rich and varied. A BA in Mathematics, an MFA in Dance with 20+ years as a professional dancer/teacher/choreographer; a children’s book and toy store owner; 11 years as an owner/operator of “A Critters Friend”, a pet sitting service in Warren County, and finally as a holistic practitioner since 2002.  In 2001, Susan was in constant pain and exhaustion, unable to climb stairs and fell easily. After receiving the ambiguous diagnosis of “Chronic Fatigue”, she looked for help in other directions and discovered energy medicine – she hasn’t fallen since.  Susan became a certified practitioner of the Body Talk System in 2002 and then studied flower essences with Alive Van Camp in NYC and David Dalton of Delta Gardens Flower Essences. She has provided these modalities for an array of animals including cats, dogs, birds, sharks, turtles, pigs… and humans.  Susan’s practice is 20% humans, and 80% other animals. She has worked with behavioral issues including anxiety, sleeping problems, ADHD, fears and aggression, separation anxiety, adoption/rescue issues, inappropriate grooming and potty habits as wee as chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia, Lymes Disease, seizures and stress/allergy-related hair loss.  Early on Susan realized the work she was doing with companion animals was not about “curing” them of disease, but in helping human and pet accept the final transition of death. So last year, she created a Pet Bereavement Workshop to help people move from pain and loss to remembering with joy. Because of this and other issues that came up in her work, she will be returning to school in the fall for an MA in Psychology and Counseling.

Denise Saracco
Shamanic Healing, Mediumship & Spiritual Counselor
Denise is a Shaman initiated by the healing spirits of the universe at the age of 2.  She was taught how to connect to another beautiful world at any time and did so through adulthood.  She experienced many adventures and was taught how to manifest, heal, and work with energy and intent.  As an adult, Denise experienced a serious illness; one where the Western doctors could not diagnose or understand.  Through meditation, yoga, music, and energy healing, Denise began to heal herself.  Along her healing journey, Denise had the privilege to work with and apprentice under various Shamans and spiritual teachers.  Her lessons with her worldly teachers gave depth to the meaning of her “otherworld” experiences growing up.  The lessons also linked her to her Shamanic ancestry through learning of the “old ways”.  In her Shamanic practice, Swiftwind Therapy, Denise bridges the healing and wisdom from the healing spirits of the universe.  Through drumming, rattling, power song, music, and the use of sacred herbs, clients are inspired to find their own answers from within themselves.  Clients often feel moved to connect with their true nature - their “True North”.  In each session, clients are harmonically aligned in a powerful and gentle way.  Guidance and tools are provided to assist with the continuance of the alignment in between sessions for deeper and fuller integration.  Denise also aids others in challenging transitions via divination or deep trace channeling of a spirit guide, animal totem, or healed ancestor.
